hi everyone:
i am doing bromiantion of caffeine but i could not find a detailed
procedure.
i got only info about the reagents mentioned by a reference including 33%
HBr/AcOH solution,and aq NaClO3.
any idea how to work up the reaction. i did it by diluting the RM with
water, neutrilizing and extraction. yet TCL shows the product still mainly
remained in the water phase whatever i used the EtOAc, DCM and ether.
thanks in advance for any suggestions
