Mar, your options are limited. It is possible to vac it off on the rotavap, but you'll have to set the bath to 95C or so, depending on your pump. A splashhead reduces the distance the vapours have to travel. You won't get rid of all of it though. Can you crash your product out by dumping the crude reaction into ten or so volumes of water? That's the best option.Taking up into a solvent like ether or possibly hexane and washing with water may work, but it rarely gets rid of all the NMP.The absolute best solution is to not use it in the first place. Use *anything* else, DMSO, DMF, both easier to get rid of.Hope that's of some helpAndyDate: Tue, 29 May 2007 09:38:35 +0100From: MQuesada$##$ everybody$##$orglist.netSubject: ORGLIST: NMP

Hi all

Any suggestions about how to get rid of the NMP as a
main solvent in a reaction crude?
