Hi all,

suggestions made on how to destroy or dispose of carbon monoxide in
lab-scale reactions were:

- absorption in Cu(I)Cl / HCl
- passing through hot copper oxide to yield copper(0) and CO2
- absorption/oxidation in H2SO4 conc. to yield CO2 and SO2 which
could both be absorbed in NaOH
- treat in a oxidative burner flame
- quenching by Grignard reagent (??? - couldn't find that one anywhere)
- off with it to atmosphere (not really a destruction method)

Thanks to all the contributors!

Regards,
Christoph
