Dear Pooja Mehra,
Below, some exemples from internet of tab about cooling bath:
http://chem.ps.uci.edu/~jsnowick/groupweb/The%20Group%20Website/Cooling%20Baths.html
http://www.chemistry.oregonstate.edu/carter/Baths.html
http://macro.lsu.edu/howto/solvents/Freezing%20Point.htm
If you wish use a cold bath lower than -78 deg. C, avoid using dry ice
(CO2(s)) unless your slv is dried and even moisture will come in, use liquid
nitrogen and make sure you are doing it properly. Also use a thermometer to
monitor the temperature. Fisher Scientifc (www1.fishersci.com) sells these
kind of thermometers.
Also a good ref book that is useful *Purification of Laboratory Chemicals
(4th Edition)*, By: Armarego, W.L.F.; Perrin, D.D. (c) 1996 Elsevier (
http://www.knovel.com/knovel2/Toc.jsp?BookID=489)
Good Luck
