Positive mode is that a proton ia added to a molecule
to give MH+ (an ion peak with M.W.+1)
Negative mode is that a proton is removed from a
molecule to give a peak of (M.W.-1)-.

It depends on the stability of your ionized molecules
not on purity. Amines generally give strong MH+ while
acids give strong (M-H)-. Very stable ions can be well
detected below 1% purity.

MS can give one spectrum of all peaks of the ions for
a whole sample.

LC-MS can in general resolve each component for a
mixture, i.e., a spectrum for each component.

If you have a pure compound, MS and LC-MS
interpetation should be the same.
