Dear Sir
We are conducting a cyanation reaction on beta keto ester where active
methylene group is alkylated with ethyl group.Known methods to form a
cyanohydrine is formation of bisulfite adduct with the help of sodium
bisulfite followed by cyanation with sodium cyanide at low temperature. We
have tried almost all the referencec cited in the literature of particular
product. We found that bisulfite adduct is not forming at all.
We have tried the above reaction by altering molar ratio , temperature ,
mode of addition ,changing the sodium bisulfite.
Please send your valuable suggestions.
