Hi friends !

I'm trying to make 4-Nitro phenylethyl alcohol from p-Nitrotoluene & paraformaldehyde. But the conventional process with Triton-B/KOH in DMSO gives only 30-35% yield of final product....

Can I pls get some suggetions for this route to get higher yield in this reaction ?
