Hi all !!

I am trying to perform a Ugi reaction. The aliphatic aldehyde that I am
using is attached to an o-cresol group, the amino acid is N-protected with
BOC group, the amine is aliphatic also and I am trying Benzyl isocyanide.
The reaction is supposed to be run in methanol . However
even after 24hrs at room temp, I am able to obtain absolutely nothing of the
expected product a (diamide) di-peptide.
I have also tried doing this reaction with simpler reactants ( formaldehyde,
Boc-glycine, tert-butyl amine, and 2-morpholin ethyl isocyanide),
ufortunately that didn't work either.

Do any of you have any suggestions as to what can be done to make the
product appear..

Your suggestions are highly appreciated.

Thanks

Epoxidation.
