Hi all,
I am working with synthesis of polymer brushes on substrates, I have
polystyrene (mol. wt ~ 4500 g/mol) with OH at one end and COOH at
another end, I want to use OH group to react with my substrate (at high
temperature), during this COOH should be protected and afterwards it
should be again deprotected so that I can use it for further reaction.
During this protection, OH group should not be affected.
I have tried esterification with t-butanol, methanol using different
conditions but it doesnt seem to work. Also the salt formation is not
working.
Can anyone suggest me some other method for my case.
Thanks in advance,
Smrati
