ORGLIST: Bad Journals?
To All:
I have a problem that I believe is general but have not seen addressed.
The ACS (or Chem Abstracts) has restricted the use of SciFinder in
university libraries to those "in the university community". They have done
this for a while, but now the libraries are no longer receiving Chem
Abstracts on paper, and have shuttled the older paper copies to archives or
deep in a basement somewhere. I can honestly say that as an employee of a
small business that cannot come close to affording a subscription to
SciFinder, my access to the chemical literature is worse than it was twenty
years ago. Any suggestions?
