Greetings:

Does anyone have any good tips for carrying out the Fischer-Kiliani
homologation of carbohydrates? We've tried standard conditions with KCN and
the major variant using TMSCN. The starting materials are consumed but are
low and the product mixture quite complex. Isolated yields seem to be
5-10%.

Any suggestions?
