In the direct hydration of Alkenes using an acid ( mineral or organic ) as catalyst in aqueous conditions, what is the ideal Molarity, quantity of acid, reaction conditions, and yield obtainable ?
Is this an efficient process for say the isoprene derivative, a diene, C10H16 :
CH2=C(CH3) CH CH2 CH2 C(CH3)CH=CH2 which is soluble in Ethanol and using dilute H2SO4 ?
