I did some silyl-deprotection reaction before. I used "HF in Pyr" in the
glass R.B. flask, which is fine. The Brand is Pyrex glass. I don't know if
other brand galsswares are good or not.
I knew some other group do reactions in the plastic vials.
Careful when quench reactions. bicarbonate reacts vigorously with HF.
good luck

Subject: ORGLIST: How to use HBF4 (54% in diethyl ether)?
Date: Fri, 27 Jan 2006 05:38:33 -0800 (PST)
Dear all
I have to use HBF4 (54% in diethyl ether) for a reaction. Does anybody
have idea how to use that ie whether glass syringes and needles can be used
or some other means to be used and is there any special precaution to be
used as it contains HF.
thanks
Himanshu
