HI ALL,
I’m synthesizing PIGMENT YELLOW 101 (it’s the aldazine of 2-hydroxy naphthaldehyde) so I go by the route 2-naphthol to 2-hydroxy naphthaldehyde then the condensation 2 moles of the aldhehyde with hydrazine hydrate to get the pigment.
For the sysnthesis of aldehyde im getting only 45% yield through RT reaction (chloroform and sodium hydroxide) Can anybody tell a better route where no gas is used and no cynide is used. Thx in advance.
Any patents on pigment yellow 101 is also a nice reference
