hi! has anybody any modified process for making 4(5)hydroxymethylimidazole.organic syntheses vol3,page 460-462 utlizes hydrogen sulphide for breaking cupric salt  formed after the reaction of fructose,ammonia and formaldehyde?Is there any other method which avoids use of H2S?
