Dear Orglist members,
In case of 1,2 disubstituted cyclohexane derivatives (1R, 2R) and (1S, 2S)
are both trans- , whereas cis- is the meso form. However, there exist
only two forms of 1,2-Dimethylcyclohexane in CAS registry (6876-23-9 for
trans- and 2207-01-4 for cis-) till date. For the diol and diamine we have
to stick to the absolute configuration since both (1R, 2R) and (1S, 2S) are
well documented. But what about 1,2-trans-cyclohexandicarboxylic acid ?
Thanks for your time
Palash
