Dear Abram,
no offence meant, but I am starting to think that some western
universities give PhD degrees way too easy.
Considering the broad international audience of the mailing list, it would
be interesting to see more opinions on this topic. How many of you have
had the opportunity to compare PhD-s from different countries and what is
the general trend in your opinion?
With regard to the original subject - MSc or PhD - I think that PhD
studies should be pursued by people who are *really* interested in
science. The salary should not be the main reason for such a choice.
