Although not a text you might be interested in WinTorg, a computer
program that simulates the process of identifying unknown organic
compounds. It is suitable for use at early university or college level.
We use the program as a prelab exercise.

WinTorg has the results of 19 classification tests, 20 types of
derivatives and spectroscopic details for 100 compounds. Extensive
help and background information like equations and tables of
compounds are available.
