I have been trying to nitrate an aromatic ring of
2,3-dichloro-naphtoquinone using a HNO3/H2SO4 mixture at 35°C. After two
hours, it seems like the starting material is still there and none (or a
minimal amount of nitrated product) is produced.
Any suggestion. I don´t want to knock-out the chlorines...only nitrate
the aromatic ring.
Thanks.
