Hello !

I am trying to carry out carboxymethylation of higher diamines ( other than
ethylene diamine ) with Monochloroacetic acid in alkaline medium. I am not
getting the required product of polyamine polycarboxylate.

Can anybody suggest the conditions/ catalyst and methods for the above
reaction?

Can we use principle of mannich reaction for above ?
