hellow every body,
i am a student of M.Sc chemistry. i
am doing research on the synthesis of
DIOCTADECYLDIMETHYL AMMONIUM CHLORIDE.this surfactant
can be prepared starting from tallow fatty acids.
fatty acids are converted in to nitriles via amide and
then their catalytic hydrogenation gives secondary
amine which on reaction with methyl chloride gives the
desired product. the problem i am faced with is that i
dont have experimental conditions to carry these
transformations in the lab. kindly help me in the
synthesis of this compound. thanks.
