Decomposition of 9,10-Bis(1-hydroxybenzyl)Anthrcene-9,10-
Endoperoxide afforded Benzyl alcohol(bp 205), Benzaldehyde
(bp 178)and anthraquinone (mp 284, bp 381)-which is not
sprangly soluble like strongly coordinate solvent THFin 1:1:1
product ratio i.e.,300% of total yield. Attemps to determine yield
by 1H nmr gaveBenzyl alcohol, Benzaldehyde and
anthraquinone in 1:1:2 product ratio, which is not expected.
Chromatographic separation was not convinient.Crystalline
separation of these mixture using methanol as solvent afforded
pure solid anthraquinone, leavingBenzyl alcohol and
Benzaldehyde-which gave as 1:1 product ration by 1H nmr.
This technique gave finally 1:1:1 product ratio of Benzyl
alcohol+ Benzaldehyde(by 1H nmr)and anthraquinone(isolated
yield). Usually same method for determination of yield of
products is accepted. My question is this technique acceptable?
Kneenly seeking advise, providing with literature site.

Advance thanking.
