Patent literature is available through several gateways including :

Chemical Patents
European Patent Office
GB Patent Search
IBM Patent Server, 1971 to present.
MicroPatent Search
Most Cited Docments:Papers & Patents
US Patent and Trademark Office

which will get you to the patents you require at no cost. Be warned, it will
take time to load each page of the patent as a separate pdf. The search
engine is intolerant of inexact and poor enquiries and, therefore, requires
some degree of expertise to navigate the database.

          I do not know how to search us patents before 1940.I
want patents to make 1.geraniol from palmarosa oil,2.citral from
