Hi colleagues,

We recently tried to reproduce the silver catalyzed Zn Barabie'r reaction
according to the procedure in THL 39(1998) 9393-9396. We used the simplest
compounds: benzyl chloride and benzaldehyde. The reaction was not
successful and stopped very soon after the mixing of reagents.
Is somebody more familiar with this work? I'm asking the "community"
because the authors E-mail is not available.
