Jocobo,

Excuse me for my questions but I'd like to learn more about the chemistry you mentioned. According to what you wrote, there seems to be a narrow choice of the methods for the reaction. Is the deoxygenation you mentioned basically a tranformation of sugar OH to other substituent without oxygen, such as R, X? What is the difference between this transformation and that in general organic chemistry? Thanks!
