Dear Jacob:
In response to your question regarding the meaning of the optical purity notation "ee;" "ee" stands for "enantiomeric excess" - e.g. the % excess of the S-(-) over the R-(+) species (or vice versa, whichever enantioner is specified).
Best regards,
Ron de Strulle

Dear Friends,
I've seen recently a phase like "the (-)-xxx isomer (98%ee)".
What does "ee" after the percent symbol mean?
All the best,
Jacob
