You take some benzaldehyde....

and then you do a Wittig (TPP)...

then you add some acetyl-acyl-chloride with AlCl3 (get it?)....

and you shake it all about...

you do the hokey pokey and you turn yourself around....

that's what it's all about!

(Is two steps good enough?)
