Should both be stable, but will be tricky to make...
(compound 2: condensation of formic acid ester with metallic sodium -
don't mind the name of that rxn right now - and then acet-anhydride.)
What about 2-butyne-1,4-diol, should be c.a., and might keep a
doublebond if polymerized, as well as butadiene, if reacting in the
1,4 fashion...

A simple search in Beilstein database gives me 13 reactions leading to
structures of the first type and 11 reactions leading to the second. Examples
are
first:
a) 1,2-dichloroethene treated with carboxylate
b) [alpha]-acetoxy acetaldehyde traeted with acetic anhydride
c) decomposion of the corresponding ethanoartracene (ex
11,12-diacetoxy-9,10-ethanoantracene)[CC(=O)OC2C(OC(C)=O)C4c1ccccc1C2c3ccccc34]
second:
a) elimination of o-methylbenzoic acid to form double bond from the
corresponding saturated benzoylderivative[Cc1ccccc1C(=O)OC2COC(C)(C)O2]
b) decomposion of the corresponding ethanoantracene (ex
isopropylidene-protected
11,12-dihydroxy-9,10-ethanoantracene)[CC5(C)OC4C3c1ccccc1C(c2ccccc23)C4O5]
