I need some p-coumaroyl aldehyde (4-hydroxycinnamoyl aldehyde) and, as far
as I've been able to determine it's not commercially available.
I thought I'd try to produce it by converting p-coumaric acid into the
carboxyl chloride (using thionyl chloride) followed by reduction with
lithium tributyoxyaluminum hydride.
Does anyone see a problem with this, or have a better suggestion?
