Minor amount of adrenalin flows in every practising chemist at this time of
the year. Each one has his/her favourite for the big prize. It is true
that organic chemistry has been out of the big picture for some time. That
is also true with organometallic and polymer (straightforward
polymerisation) chemistry.
My favourites are of course Kaminsky, Brintzinger & Sinn for their
contribution to single-site catalysis.
There has been suggestions from my colleagues who think Kagan and Sharpless
for their contribution in asymmetric catlaysis.
In any case Tuesday is the D-Day!
