Hi,

I'm trying to methylate an -OH - group containing water-soluble
polymer with diazomethane. I'm using the Diazald protocol

         http://home.twcny.rr.com/orangemidnight/diazomethane.html

substituting methanol for ethanol (I don't have the latter at hand
right now).

My polymer is virtually insoluble in ether. Is it possible to use
diazomethane in an ether/water solution/emulsion?

TIA,

Eugene
