I am attempting to separate two compounds, both of which have a
quaternary amine and a carboxylic acid at the end of a linker.
One is residual reactant; 1-(4-carboxybutyl)-4-methyl-quinoline
and the other is my product;
1-(4-Carboxybutyl)-4-(3-methyl-2,3-dihydro-(benzo-1,3-oxazole)-2-methylidene)-quinolinium
bromide [oxazole yellow with the same carboxybutyl tail].
What is a good method to separate these compounds?
Thanks,
Martin
