I just completed a manual lit search on this topic based on the
references in the last edition of March's Advanced Organic Chemistry &
Hudlicky's 1996 monograph Reductions in Organic Chemistry.
I'm interested in avoiding dimethyl sulfide & other odorous reductants
like thiourea. Current possibilities are sodium sulfite, NaI, & zinc
dust/acetic acid.
Is anyone aware of any recent developments in this area?
Thanks in advance!
