Dear Colleagues,
It is well-known that alcohols react with organic isocyanates to give urethanes (carbamates).
Has anybody heard about a case where a phenol reacts with RN=C=O or
RN=C=S ??? Is it possible to distinguish between an alcohol OH and a phenol OH
by means of an isocyanate?
Thank you in advance!
Sincerely,
I. C. Ivanov
