Hi everybody,
Can anyone answer a simple question, namely: does optical rotation of a
chiral salt depend on the counter ion? For example let`s take an amino
acid into consideration. Let`s imagine that we dissolve in 1 liter of
water 1mole of its zwiterion, its hydrochloride and its sulfate
respectively. Will the measured values of rotatory power be identical or
different (and why different)?
Kindest regards to you all,
Witold
