Dear colleagues,
first of all my apologies for any repetitions.
I have to synthesize 2-(2,6-difluoro)phenylpropionic acid via one-pot
reductive dichlorocarbene addiction to 2,6-difluorophenyl methyl ketone
as an alternative to direct methylation of 2,6-difluorophenylacetic
acid.
I followed the experimental procedure reported by Emilio F. Llama,
Carmen del Campo and Jose' V. Sinisterra (does anybody know their
e-address?...) in Organic Preparations and Procedures Int. 24 (2),
165-208 (1992) and (together with M. Garcia and J.M. Sanchez-Montero) in
Tetrahedron 49 (37), 8433-8440 (1993), but I didn't succeed.
Do you have any suggestions? Do I need any peculiar equipment or
apparatus not reported in the articles?
