Hello christopher,
I've no idea of the nature of your salt, but here's a good bet: If your
salt is somethig like sodium chloride or potassium benzoate, I would
repeatedly boil the solution to near dryness and add distilled water again.
Both ammonia and acetic acid should partially evaporate in each boiling
cycle leaving the less volatile stuff behind. Just to be on the safe side,
use a still and check whether your matter of interest hasn't boiled off in
the distillate.
