Hi everyone, I wish to start a Friedel Craft rxn and dry AlCl3 anhydrous powder has to be used .However, when the pellet is in contact with air, it immediately absorbs water. Can anyone please tell me how I can completely get red of the moisture? How would it affect my rxn if I simply ignore the absorbed moisture?(Does it affect the yield only or it stops the rxn from happening?) Please advise.Thank you.
