Hello everybody,
does anyone know how to obtain propargyl bromide from acetylene (ethyne)?
My suggestion is the formation of acetylide with a sodium solution in liquid
ammonia in the first place (1.) , which can subsequently be converted into
the
desired pb (HC#C-CH2-Br) by SN with dibromo methane (2.):
1. HC#CH + NaNH2 --NH3(l)-> HC#C|
2. HC#C| + Br-CH2-Br -> HC#C-CH2-Br
Is this going to work?
Thanks in advance for your input!
Michael Fassbender
